The goals for HHF are bigger than ever with plans and high hopes of launching into the wholesale market, trying to bring the best of fresh, local flowers to grocery chains, supplying florists with weekly deliveries, and still continuing to design for events and weddings. With our new high tunnel (fancy lingo for an unheated greenhouse) and our heated seedling house, we have opened up a world of new growing possibilities and that’s not all! We have also expanded our growing fields with the addition of roughly two more acres slated for field production to boot!
Reflecting back on 2014 has allowed me to see just how far we have come in such a short amount of time. Our direction has been fine-tuned but our commitment to growing exceptional fresh, local cut flowers that are accessible for everyone hasn’t wavered. If anything, it has helped us to focus our attention on how we can effectively do just that. I can now be excited about entering into a new year with a refreshed vision for HHF.
The seeds have been ordered, the baby plant plugs will start arriving next week, and the meetings are stacking up. This year is already in high gear and looks as if it’s going to be gangbuster style for us. But I wouldn’t have it any other way! Here’s to a fabulous New Year…and just for the sake of everyone’s sanity, I will just bypass the month of January and begin my new year with February to catch up with all of you who are already well into 2015!
